Q&A

What is your occupation? Electrician

What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit? Taking our dog Macy, and 9 month old daughter Abbie to the park to play! Also, Snowboarding in the winter and softball in the spring and summer.

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?  Being early is on time, being on time is late.

How long have you been doing CrossFit? How long at Wayfarer? Been going CrossFit for about 7 years and at Wayfarer since 2019.

What is the biggest accomplishment you’ve achieved since you started doing CrossFit?  My dad and I have run many Spartan races over the years, and we went to NJ in 2018 where he completed the 14 mile beast and I completed the ultra which was roughly 30 miles.

Why did you start doing CrossFit and what made you choose Wayfarer CrossFit? My dad had been doing CrossFit for 3-4 years prior to me starting, and seeing what he was able to accomplish in his mid-fifties at the time was very impressive to me, which ultimately led me to trying it. I went to CrossFit Tantrum for 5 years before switching to Wayfarer, which was a very hard decision, I had and still have many close friends there that I had made over that period of time. My wife and I moved to Level Green about 4 years ago, and I would drive by Wayfarer every day, twice a day, and I finally decided to stop in and just check it out. Nate and the whole community were overwhelmingly welcoming and welcomed myself, and now also my dad Steve right in.

Favorite WOD/movement? My favorite WOD is really any that involve running, because who doesn’t enjoy that?! Favorite movement is double unders.

Least favorite WOD/movement? Saying Fran is my least favorite feels like a cop out, but thrusters definitely are my least favorite movement.

What is your favorite music to listen to during a workout? I can workout to pretty much any kind of music but I enjoy rock the most.

What is the one cheat meal you won’t give up no matter what? Anything that has peanut butter does not last long around me.

What is your worst gym habit? I leave at least one item somewhere at the gym 4 out of 5 days a week.

What would you recommend to someone that is just starting CrossFit or is too afraid to try it? It can be intimidating to start anything new, but if you keep showing up and listen to what the coaches are showing you and teaching you, it will only get better as the days/weeks go by. Consistency is everything, so if you show up and stick with it you’ll fall in love with it just like so many of us have already.

How does it feel to be named Member of the Month? It is awesome, there are so many deserving people at Wayfarer that can be named member of the month every month.

What the (Blank)?

My typical post workout meal is eggs and toast, lately.

I can’t go to the gym without chalk.

CrossFit is life changing.
