We recently sat down with Sherri to ask her a few questions so you can get to know her better. Her answers are in bold.

Q&A

What is your occupation? Regional Sales Director for Philips HHS

What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit? I have two active boys, ages 10 and *almost* 8, so my hour at Wayfarer each day is my hobby. When we are not running to practices or games, which is rare, I do enjoy reading a good mystery novel.

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?  “Don’t stop – just keep pushing.” Hasn’t failed me yet.

How long have you been doing CrossFit? How long at Wayfarer? A little over two years – all at Wayfarer.

What is the biggest accomplishment you’ve achieved since you started doing CrossFit?  I can actually do push-ups and pull-ups – I really had my doubts if that was possible.

Why did you start doing CrossFit and what made you choose Wayfarer CrossFit? After having my boys I got into distance running since it was something I could do with them (in a stroller). I still enjoy running but I was looking for something that would help build my strength. I was considering CrossFit and then I interviewed a candidate for a job and he sold me on it during the interview (it was a sales role). Side note – I hired him for a different role almost 2 years later and he has been a great fit.

Favorite WOD/movement? Clean & jerk or push press

Least favorite WOD/movement? Snatches – power, hang, squat, not a fan of any of them.

What is your favorite music to listen to during a workout? AC/DC and the like

What is the one cheat meal you won’t give up no matter what? I don’t give up any meals but I would never be able to give up chocolate..

What is your worst gym habit? Not pushing myself to go heavier.

What would you recommend to someone that is just starting CrossFit or is too afraid to try it? It is a great total body workout routine that offers a variety of movements and modifications. Everyday is different so it is not like other workout regimens that get boring over time. Plus the community is great at Wayfarer with everyone genuinely invested in celebrating each other’s achievements and pushing each other to be better every day.

How does it feel to be named Member of the Month? The Wayfarer crew is no joke so being named MoTM is an honor.

What the (Blank)?

My typical post workout meal is cereal over emails…I have to multitask.

I can’t go to the gym without my grips…tearing is not fun!

CrossFit is the best way to start the day! Shout out to the 5:30AM Crew!
