We recently sat down with Chad to ask him a few questions so you can get to know him better. His answers are in red.

What is your occupation? Kindergarten Teacher
What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit? Running, hiking and biking
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given? I have the opportunity to make a difference in the world and in myself. Make each day meaningful.
How long have you been doing CrossFit? How long at Wayfarer? 4.5 years
What is the biggest accomplishment you’ve achieved since you started doing CrossFit? I learned that I can take control of my own physical and mental health. And I can do a few pull-ups now too.
Why did you start doing CrossFit and what made you choose Wayfarer CrossFit? I needed someone to push me to work outside of my comfort zone to reach my ultimate goals. Wayfarer is five minutes from my house, so that was a big factor that motivated me. I dropped in one day for the 4:30 class and never left.
Favorite WOD/movement? Deadlifts
Least favorite WOD/movement? Clusters
What is your favorite music to listen to during a workout? Anything upbeat and loud
What is the one cheat meal you won’t give up no matter what? Ice cream
What is your worst gym habit? I have a hard time listening to directions. I like to talk, but not listen.
What would you recommend to someone that is just starting CrossFit or is too afraid to try it? I recommend to just try it, and not give up easily. Keep your goals in sight. I worked through some injuries and difficult times, and am so happy I continued to fight through. Any movement can be adapted to fit your needs. I truly feel that Wayfarer has saved, and is extending my life.
How does it feel to be named Member of the Month? I feel very privileged be named Wayfarer Member of the Month. I am so proud to be a part of such a supportive community where we are all trying to help each other improve our quality of life. Keep up the great work at home everyone. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone back at the blue box.

My typical post workout meal is scrambled eggs with spinach.
