Member of the Month – February 2023

Jon Milos

Congratulations to Jon for being named February’s “Member of the Month” award! In accordance with our core values at Wayfarer CrossFit, Jon exemplifies respect, selflessness, a great attitude, and a solid attendance record.


We recently sat down with Jon to ask her a few questions so you can get to know him better. His answers are in bold.


Q&A


What is your occupation? Police Detective

What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit? Watching my kids compete in organized sports

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?  “Listen to your body. It’s not feasible to workout at 100% 100% of the time.”

How long have you been doing CrossFit? How long at Wayfarer? I started CrossFit around 2012 and have been at Wayfarer for about 2 years.

What is the biggest accomplishment you’ve achieved since you started doing CrossFit?  There are so many. In general, my overhauled view of physical fitness and how it relates to my emotional, mental and spiritual health.

Why did you start doing CrossFit and what made you choose Wayfarer CrossFit? A couple friends introduced me to Fran. We were clueless and did Fran three times not realizing that 21-15-9 were the three rounds. I thought an ambulance was in my immediate future. I found the CrossFit brandX website and was hooked. I chose Wayfarer because my wife was new to CrossFit and it was a fresh start for me.

Favorite WOD/movement? Used to be Linda, but 3 shoulder surgeries ended our relationship. Diane is probably my new favorite.

Least favorite WOD/movement? Burpees over anything!

What is your favorite music to listen to during a workout? Late 90’s to 2000’s hip hop

What is the one cheat meal you won’t give up no matter what? Fried chicken wings!

What is your worst gym habit? Whining during the warmup (editor’s note: don’t worry Jon, you’re not alone!)

What would you recommend to someone that is just starting CrossFit or is too afraid to try it? The hardest part is getting through the front door. Once you do it will be life changing.

How does it feel to be named Member of the Month? It’s an absolute honor because of all of the great people that make up our Wayfarer community.
