Congratulations to Chad for being named April’s “Member of the Month”! In accordance with our core values at Wayfarer CrossFit, Chad exemplifies respect, selflessness, a great attitude, and a solid attendance record.
We recently sat down with Chad to ask him a few questions so you can get to know him better. His answers are in bold.
Q&A
What is your occupation? Site Reliability Engineer
What class time do you normally attend? 8am (Coach Heather for the win!)
What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit? Enjoying time with my kids and going to Disney
What is the best advice you’ve been given? We are always more afraid then we wish to be, but we can always be braver than we expect.
How long have you been doing CrossFit? How long at Wayfarer? Since January 2023 all at Wayfarer
What is the biggest accomplishment since you started doing CrossFit? Getting my first ring muscle up and convincing my wife to join.
Why did you choose to start doing CrossFit and what made you choose Wayfarer? I found myself always being out of breath and tired when running around with my boys. I used to drive by the old gym all the time and decided to check out what CrossFit was. The location of the new gym and class schedules made it an easy choice.
Favorite WOD/movement? Overhead squats
Least favorite WOD/movement? Heavy thrusters
What is your favorite music to listen to during a workout? Has to be the big booty mix on Fridays
What is the one cheat meal you won’t give up no matter what? Chips with Queso or a milkshake
What is your worst gym habit? I don’t do the cool down.
What would you recommend to someone that is just starting CrossFit or is too afraid to try it? Trust the process and believe in yourself. A little progress everyday adds up to big results.
How does it feel to be named MoTM? Exciting and extremely honored.
WHAT THE BLANK?
My typical post workout meal is a protein shake and some fruit
I can’t go to the gym without my drinks and chalk
CrossFit has helped me realize that I am able to change my fitness and life for the healthier. I tried to change before but would always quit. Coach Heather and the friends I’ve made over the year have given me the drive and confidence to keep showing up everyday. Working out is now a fun activity for me.
